Finally, a solution to robot tooling and gripper setup is now available!  If you have spent any time at a robot adjusting the machine to compensate for different tooling or grippers, then you can understand how powerful this measuring device can be.  By using precision measuring equipment, you can now determine or set-up the tooling/grippers to conform to the process.  Or, you can measure the offset and compensate by adjusting the robot parameters.  Either way, this powerful device will make tooling/gripper setup and calibration much faster, more precise, and easier.
Like an optical comparator, this device lets you  measure and inspect the gripper/tooling features during set-up. This is done off-line

Benefits:
• Low cost
• Accurate
• Rapid setup and measurement
• Easy to use
• Flexible, can be used for all makes of robots
• Measurement data can be printed to document setup
• stand-alone, no other equipment needed
Easy to use steps:
1. Calibrate unit with calibration bar if necessary
2. Place or connect tooling to adapter
3. Adjust reading head by manually moving to your tool feature to be measured
4. Adjust rotation of tooling until a crisp image is observed
5. Move X and Y axis of read head until tooling feature is at cross-hair
6. Note, record, or output value to printer
7. Adjust tooling if necessary to meet your tooling set-up dimensions measure features and adjust robot
8. Install tooling on robot and your job is done. You can output tool number, feature measurements, and other data to a printer or computer file.
